Retrospective of Quebec Crafts since 1930

Mutations is a two-part retrospective exhibition of the last 85 years of crafts in Quebec. The first part will open with a ceremony, on October 7 at 6:00 p.m, at the Musée des Maîtres et Artisans du Québec in Montreal. The second part of the exhibition will begin as on November 24, at the Musée de L’Amérique Francophone in Quebec City.

MA s’expose exhibition

The Cégep du Vieux Montréal Agora will present the MA s’expose exhibition, October 19-29 which will feature the works of emerging artists and artisans that have graduated, between 2010 and 2015, from the various fine craft programmes. This will include the works of three of Espace VERRE’s graduates: Amélie Girard, Barbara Renault and Ashley Ouimet. The opening ceremony will be on Tuesday, October 20, from 5 to 7 p.m.

10 ans de Fusion, our upcoming exhibition

This exhibition will highlight 10 years of sharing and cooperation between three glass artists: Catherine Labonté, Caroline Ouellette and Patrick Primeau. They met during their studies at Espace VERRE, creating a personal and professional bond while they attended the Fusion programme. Consequently, they decided to follow the same path by sharing the WELMO studio together. To mark an important milestone, their group exhibition10 ans de fusion will present their current works.  The opening ceremony, in the presence of the artists, will be on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 6:30 pm.

Montserrat Duran Muntadas and Jean-Simon Trottier are on a roll

The duo’s exhibition Semina Percurrenta: From Both Sides of the Border will be shown, from October 3 to November 29, at the Maison Pierre-Chartrand in Rivière-des-Prairies. The opening ceremony, including a flame working demonstration, will take place on Sunday, November 8, at 2:00 p.m.

In addition, their pieces Scabiosa Stellata and Fragile Maternity will be part of a group exhibition, October 12-19, within the European Glass Festival in Wroclaw, Poland.

Furthermore, the National Glass Center in the United-Kingdom will exhibit, from October 8 to November 17, Montserrat’s’ jewellery. What a great fall for both of them!

Three Espace VERRE’s graduates at the FAC of St-Lambert

The upcoming Foire d’ Arts Contemporains of St-Lambert, October 15-18, will include three outstanding glass artists in this year’s edition: Myrianne D. Giguère, Ito Laïla Le François and Sophie-Kimberly Séguin-Lalonde  will present their recent works.

The Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec ‘s new boutique in Old Montreal.

This new boutique will showcase fine craft creations created by professional craftspeople that are members of the CMAQ. To balance out their inventory of handmade crafts, they are looking for (unique, small and large series) glass creations.
