We are announcing with great emotion the departure of our Executive Director Christian Poulin. After 22 years of contribution to our studio-school, he is retiring from his duties to navigate towards new adventures.

Christian took the helm in the early 2000s. Two decades later, Espace VERRE has established itself in the fine crafts and glass art communities. Over the years, many individuals have greatly invested to make Espace VERRE an important hub for the research, promotion and advancement of glass arts, while being highly recognized by its peers. Christian is among those that have greatly contributed to the development of our establishment. He was a rock, a beacon and always an attentive listener, while his thoroughness and professionalism were the key elements in the guidance of the studio-school. This developed strong bonds of trust with students, professional glass artists, and colleagues alike. With a positive vision and great dedication, he pushed the boundaries to make glass arts shine outside of our walls.

Christian, we will miss you immensely. Thank you for your exceptional work and involvement which has enabled the constant growth and renewal of Espace VERRE.

Don’t hesitate to send him an email: direction@espaceverre.qc.ca, or call him during the workweek at (514) 933-6849 by August 12th.

Furthermore, we take this occasion to announce that Marina Dobel will be the newly appointed Executive Director, effective as of August 1, 2022. With experience in human resources management, she held managing positions in major European companies for more than ten years. She also specializes in philanthropy, which she has been practicing since arriving to Québec in 2011. For five years, she worked as the Director, Administration and Human Resources of the Québec Breast Cancer Foundation. Eager to support the advancement of the arts in Québec, she was appointed as the secretary on the board of directors of L’Artothèque in Montréal, since 2020.

She considers herself privileged to join, a great team and the Québec glass art community, while continuing the work to assure the sustainability of the unique place that is Espace Verre.

Congratulations Christian and Marina, we wish you both happiness and success in your next chapters!
