Object:       Group exhibition of contemporary lighting

To celebrate Montréal’s 375th anniversary, the Espace VERRE gallery is organizing a juried group exhibition featuring contemporary lighting. Montréal, city of lights, is also a recognized UNESCO City of design. To highlight these attributes, glass artists are invited to create, in collaboration with a designer, one or many lighting arrangements that will showcase Montréal’s overflowing creativity. An exhibition of the selected works is planned from September 21, 2017 to January 7, 2018.

Submissions must be sent by email, by Monday, October 11, 2016, to the attention of Valérie Paquin: communication@espaceverre.qc.ca

Conditions of eligibility
Candidates must:

  • Have at least two (2) years of professional glass art experience;
  • Reside in Quebec and have an established relationship with Espace VERRE;
  • Associate themselves with a designer to present their project.


Required elements must be enclosed in a single PDF document including:

  • A letter of motivation describing the proposed collaboration (max. 1 page);
  • A current resume of the glass artist (max. 2 pages);
  • A current resume of the collaborator (max. 2 pages);
  • A preliminary sketch or technical drawing for the prototype*;
  • Optional: press review or visual material support (max. 3 pages).

The selected candidates will be contacted in the early part of November 2016.
Please note that Espace VERRE plans to offer a workshop on CSA certification in January 2017.
