Each year, Galerie Espace VERRE presents the graduating exhibition of students from the Techniques de métiers d’art – verre program. The 2025 edition, titled Échos Chromatiques, highlights the personal approaches of the 34th cohort through works that reflect a wide range of techniques, perspectives, and creative worlds.
Among this year’s graduating students, Daphnée Trottier explores the meeting point between material, light, and sound. Drawn to the technical complexity of glass, she finds inspiration in the process itself, allowing it to guide both her thinking and her making. Using blown glass and neon, she examines how the material can translate invisible vibrations into tangible, immersive forms.
Some of her pieces incorporate lighting elements that reveal the texture of the glass through refraction, diffraction, and caustic projections. Light becomes an extension of the material, cast into space and brought into dialogue with colour. Through this approach, Daphnée plays with perception, disrupting familiar visual cues and inviting viewers to perceive the invisible and feel what lies beneath the surface.
